THE undersigned believes that he has invented a | cast iron carriage hub which far excels all oth ers now in use. for strength, neatness and durability, and that it only needs to be examined, and its mer its tested; to secure its universal approval and a doption. Indeed it is no longer an experiment, it having been effectually tried by the best judges in our country, and pronounced one of the Greatest Improvements of the Age ! Several vehicles have been in use over two years with the Improved Hub attached, and the wheels are still a= perfect as when they lelt the shop, the unavoidable wear excepted. This is the only Cast Iron Hub ever invented sui j table for light wheels. I This imprevement is cf such a nature that one or ! more spokes may betaken out changed or replaced ; without disturbing the other portion of the wheel, i Where a wood hub is used, it a spoke happens to be come, broken, it is Kcetaary to cut the tire and se parate the felloes, to get at the damaged part. The : wheel must be then recomposed, the tire rewelded ! and reset. All this involves a considerable expense I arid of time. In tue present Improvement the inner ends of the spokes are secured in an Iron Hub, which consists mainly of two shells fastened together u ith screws. By simply unscrewing the nuts and taking off the back shell, any one of the spokes may be removed or changed, atut the hub again put together, leaving the wheel as solid and firm as ever, all WITHI.Y THE SPACE OF A FEW ML\ UTES. This mejhod of constructing Iron Hub Wheels gives them unusual strength, LIGHTNESS AND NEATNESS besides obviating several other objections that have heretofore attended their use. The cost of manu facture is also greatly reduced. The subscriber Agent for Bedford County, w ill dispose of Township and shop rights on reasonable ] terms. WILLIAM O'NEAL, Agent. Feb 25, 185y. '■ Ayer's Sarsaparilla, A compound remedy, in which we have labored to produce the most effectual alterative that can be made. It is a concentrated extract of Para Sana ; pur ill a, so combined with other substances of still | greater alterative power as to afford an effective antidote for the diseases Sarsaparilla is reputed to j cure. It, is believed that such a remedy is wanted by those who suffer from Strumous complaints, Yd that one which will accomplish their cure mast I ! prove of immense service to this large class of our I aillicted fellow-citizens. How completely this com j pound will do it has been proven by experiment on many of the worst cases to be found of the follow, j ing complaints : SCROFULA, AND SCROFULOUS COMPLAINTS, E ar? . TIOXS AND ERUPTIVE DISEASES, ULCERS, PIMPLIS, BLOTCHES, TUMORS, SALT RHEUM, SCALD HEAD' SYPHILIS AXD SYPHILITIC AFFECTIONS, MEECCKUL DISEASE, DROPSY, NEURALGIA OR TIC DouLomn, DEBILITY, DYSPEPSIA AXD INDIGESTION, EBTSIPJ. LAS, ROSE OR ST. ANTHONY'S FIRE, and indeed the whole class of complaints arising from liipunt j OP THE BLOOD. , . This compound will be found a great promoter j of health, when taken in the spring, to expel tie i foul humors which fester in the blood at that sea son of the year. By the timely expulsion of tkm I many rankling disorders are nipped in the hoi j Multitudes can, by the aid of this remedy, spare I themselves from the endurance of foul erupt:as | and ulcerous sores, through which the system will strive to rid itself of corruptions, if not assisted to do this through the natural channels of the body by an alterative medicine. Cleanse out the vitiated blood whenever you find its impurities buxstmg through the skin in pimples, eruptions, or sores; | cleanse it when you find it is obstructed and slag. I gish in the veins; cleanse it whenever it is foul, and your feelings will tell you when. Even where no particular disorder is felt, people enjoy better health, and live longer, for cleansing the blood. Keep the blood healthy, and all is well; but with this pabulum of life disordered, there can be no lasting health. Sooner or later something must go wrong, and the great machinery of life is disordered or overthrown. Sarsaparilla has, and deserves much, the reputa tion of accomplishing these ends. But the world j has been egregiously deceived by preparations of it, partly because tKo drug atone luis not all '.lie virtue i that is claimed for it, but more because many prep arations, pretending to be concentrated extracts of it, contain but little of the virtue of Sarsaparilla, or I any thing else. During late years the public have been misled | by large bottles, pretendirg to give a quart of Ex tract of Sarsaparilla for one dollar. Most of these have been frauds upon the sick, for they not only i contain little, if any, Sarsaparilla, but often tto j curative properties whatever. Hence, bitter and | painful disappointment has followed the use of the - various extracts of Sarsaparilla which flood the market, until the name itself is justly despised, and has become synonymous with imposition and cheat. Stiii we call this compound Sarsaparilla, and intend to simply such a remedy as shall rescue the name j from the load of obloquy which rests upon it. And we think we have ground for believing it has vir tues which are irresistible by the ordinary run of the diseases it is intended to cure. In order to secure their complete eradication from the system, the remedy should be judiciously taken according to directions on the bottle. PREPARED BY DR. J. C. AVER & CO. LOWELL, MASS.
