Heilman To Lead Holstein Foundation Fund-Raising Efforts BRATTLEBORO, Vt. Bob Heilman, Richmond, Va., will lead the fund-raising efforts of the Holstein Foundation, Inc. In this capacity as co-chair man of the hind-raising commit tee with Donald Bennink of Bell, Fla., he will oversee fund-raising campaigns at the grassroots and corporate levels. In addition, he will assist in all fund-raising re lated efforts including promotion and publicity. Lancaster Farmland Trust officials officially launched Harvest Appeal 2003, an annual fundraising campaign with a goal of $225,000, at a re ception at the home of Rich and Bert Hurst on Tues day. The Trust announced that $60,000 had already been pledged or received for the campaign, a record for the start of the Harvest Appeal. The Harvest Ap peal has run annually since 1997. “We are especially pleased to announce that we have had such a posi tive response to our re quests for funds this early in the campaign,” said Heidi Schellenger, execu tive director. “Several of our loyal individual mem bers who contribute each year have already contrib uted, and our board mem bers have pledged and con tributed. An early gift from Wenger Feeds has helped us set this record.” Last year the campaign only reached $60,000 by early November. i' tj ,i Ted Bowers, Lancaster Farmland Trust board chair, introduced the divi sion chairs for the cam paign. Honorary Chair for Harvest Appeal 2003 is Jo seph Del Tito, market pres ident for Wachovia Bank. Dr. James Ar gires serves as the Found ers and Preservation Socie ties Division chair. This division includes members whose cumulative giving for the year is $5OO and above.
