You could tell it was going to be an active day when the first steer in the ring weighed over 1500 lbs, and sold for 84.25; after that most people that were sitting close to the sale nng were in search of a safety harness Bidding was very active throughout the day as a good selection of steers benefit of putting the extra finish on them as Prime steers once again topped at nearly 87.00 on Thursday; with kosher buyers thrilled to have the good quality steers to fill their loads Holstein steers sold firm to 2.00 higher as pack er buyers went in search of the spotted stock to cheapen up their colored loads a little. A light test of slaughter heifers sold 1.00-2.00 higher as well. Fleshier (65-75 percent lean) slaughter cows sold mostly steady, instances firmer. Bon ing cows sold firm to 1.00 higher. Lean slaugh ter cow sold weak to 2.00 lower as buyer attend ance was lighter than normal.
