Al New Idea I AGCOi BUILT FOR THE BOTTOM LIRE Cumberland Co. 4-H Dairy Club Prepares For Summer Shows The Cumberland County 4-H Dairy club met on June 9 to pre pare for their summer cattle shows. John Ocker and Galen Smith reviewed some fitting and showing tips with the members. This session will help each and every member to show their dairy cattle at a higher level. John Ocker also reviewed the rules and regulations for the Shippensburg Fair and other area shows coming up. President Brian Nailor called the meeting to order at the Wal ton Farm. Mark Hammond then led us in the Pledge of Alegiance followed by Richard Beatty lead ing us in the 4-H Pledge. Sarah Wickard, filling in for Tori Ful ler, called the roll of members. Each member responded with their favorite summertime activi ty. Tori then read the minutes • The nation's largest dairy show, the All-American, * • is scheduled at the new and renovated Harrisburg Farm Show • • Complex Sept. 21-25. The county round-up is August 1 and entries should be coming in the mail. Kathy along with Galen asked for people to participate in the judging school coming up at the Brown Cow Farm. Kathy then gave a trea sury report on the round-up fund. The Dairy Promotion is asking for donations and the club donated $25 under Amy Kauch er’s motion. Janel Zinn gave a demonstra tion to the club on the Smokey Mountains and the black bears that live there. John Ocker also told the club he sold his cows and has show supplies for sale.
