Unlike most varieties, it can be cut or grazed prior to heading, adding flexibility to Timothy management. “Barliza’s palat ability is second to none” according to Dave Leach, one of our dealers who has been growing Barliza since 1998. Dave’s farm is on heavy red clay soil and he routinely grazes and/or makes hay/balage off his fields prior to heading and still maintains stand persistence. You can’t do that with most varieties.
