LIGHTS:
CHEDDAR CHEESE prices received
for US 40 pound Blocks averaged $1.25
per pound for the week ending October
12. The price per pound increased 5.6
cents from the previous week. The price
for US 500 pound Barrels adjusted to 38
percent moisture averaged $1.14 per
pound, up 1.5 cents from the previous
week.
BUTTER prices received for 25 kilo
gram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA
Weekly Meat Production Under Federal Inspection
WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 18 - (USDA-NASS) - Total red meat
production under federal inspection for the week ending Saturday, Oct. 19,
was estimated at 948.5 million lbs., according to the USDA's
Agricultural Marketing Service. This was 1.2% higher than a week ago
and 0.4% higher than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the
year to date was 3.3% higher compared to the previous year.
