She brought a heifer and two steers to the show and plans to go onto the Farm Show and Keystone International Livestock Exposition. In the breeding beef show, Em ilie Miller, Womelsdorf, and Hereford homebred ECMSF’s Baby 110 won grand champion honors. The heifer has been a class winner in other exhibitions and is part of Emilie’s string of cattle, ECM Herefords, which in cludes SO animals. Emilie also showed a reserve heavyweight steer in the market beef show. A senior this year at Tulpe hocken High School, she is look ing for a college in the western U.S. and hopes to major in agri culture education. As she moves off to school she plans to sell a few of her cattle to help pay for college. She is the president of the state Junior Hereford Association and a candidate for the national jun ior board of directors. She will find out if she has got ten the position at the Hereford industry’s PRIDE convention at the end of October in Kansas City. “I’m pretty excited about it,” she said. Of eight candidates, four will get positions on the board. Besides several county fairs, she will exhibit her cattle and sheep at the Farm Show and KILE. In her 10th year as a 4-H’er, Emilie took home reserve cham pion fitter honors. Cathy Levan, 18, Hamburg, took home champion showman in the beef show.
