Schabing er Pavilion played host to a splendid and splashy tradition at Delaware State Fair the Livestock Extrava ganza here Tuesday evening. The event, full of lots of fair spar kle, pomp, circumstance, and enthu siastic friends and family, features judges dressed in tuxedos and spot light Vegas-style “strut your stuff’ action in the show ring. Champions of all four species beef, sheep, goats, and swine are announced with fanfare and emotion. The day caps almost a week of ex hibits and fun times at the state fair. Grand champion of the beef show that day, featuring about SO exhibi tors and more than 100 animals, went to Kyle Ebert, Harrington, Del. Ebert won with his 1,167-pound middle weight steer champion. Dan Belcher, St. Louis, Mo., puts the finish ing touches on the huge sand sculpture Tues day at the Delaware State Fair. This is the eighth day of sculpting the heavily compacted sand, which has a Sept. 11 theme, using the New York skyline and a fire fighter. The Delaware State Fair owes a lot of its de velopment, including several brand-new exhibi tion halls, to the Midway Slots. Reserve champion market steer went to the Sarah Moore, far left, for her heavyweight champion Tuesday evening at the Delaware State Fair. In the goat show, grand champion went to Cole Garey, Felton, Del. Re serve went to Anna Kendall, Seaford, Del. Judge was Susan Schoenian, Clear Spring, Md. In the swine show, grand champi on was awarded to Jessica Tatman, Felton, Del. Reserve went to Robby Emerson, Towsend, Del. Judge was Mike McCoy, Washington County, Ohio.
