CAROLYN MOYER Bradford Co. Correspondent TROY (Bradford Co.) - Sixty two hogs, 13 sheep and two steers crossed the auction block at the 2001 Troy Fair held recently. Also sold at the combined live stock and milk auction were 12 gallons of milk from the champi on and reserve champions from the youth dairy show. The grand champion steer of the 2001 Troy Fair was shown by Jade Wood. Kayla White had the champion lamb at the Troy Fair. Jersey Shore Livestock Sales purchased the lamb, repre senting the business are, from left, Raymond Kepner holding Kenny Kepner and Raymond Kepner. John Palmer and Jared Palmer, representing County Recovery Service, purchased the Troy Fair grand champi on hog from Meredith Hennip. Results Of Troy Fair Livestock Sale Prices held steady throughout the sale with the 250-pound champion hog commanding $4.75 per pound. The champion was raised by Meredith Hennip and was sold to County Recovery Service. The reserve grand champion hog was raised by Josh Ford. That 240-pound hog was sold to Keystone Cattle Company for $6 per pound. Overall, the hogs averaged $2.83. During the course of the auction, five hogs were donated back to be resold to raise money for a youth scholarship fund. The resale of the five hogs raised over $l,BOO. Four lambs were also resold to raise money for the scholarship fund. Those lambs, donated back by various business, raised $629. The 116-pound grand champi on lamb was raised by Kayla White. White sold her lamb to Jersey Shore Livestock Sales for $4.75 per pound. The reserve champion lamb also weighed 116 pounds. That lamb was raised by Monica Knel ler and was sole! to Wyalusing Livestock Market for $4.5 per pound. The 13 lambs averaged $2.46 per pound. Only two steers were sold at the 2001 Troy Fair, averaging $1.49 per pound.
