Jersey Named Supreme At Troy Youth Dairy Show CAROLYN N. MOYER Bradford Co. Correspondent TROY (Bradford Co.) “I’d be really excited if I was in your shoes,” said judge Alisa Fava Fasnacht, Scenery Hill, as she addressed the youth holding the halters of the grand champion cows from each breed at the Troy Fair youth dairy show. After calling for one more round of applause from the au dience, Fasnacht and Terri Packard, of Boonesboro, Md., named the Jersey, Breezy Hollow Aerostar Blossom, a 4- year-old, owned by James Banks, the supreme champion. “Terri and I both agree that the Jersey is the cow to beat today,” Fasnacht said. Named reserve grand cham pion Jersey was Becky Eick’s 4- year-old, Rolling Acres Jim DeDe. Scott Harkness showed the junior champion, winter calf Frosty Valley Treaty Sarah. James Banks exhibited the re serve junior champion. Breezy Hollow Brokshire Bet, a spring calf. In the Holstein ring, the Cal kins family took three of the four . champion positions. Named senior and grand cham pion was Randy Calkins’ senior 2-year-old, Calkins Farm Pete Berachah. The reserve senior and reserve grand champion was Diana Calkins’ junior 2- year-old, Calkins Farms Emory Rakel. The junior champion award in the Holstein breed was taken by Jordan Snyder with spring yearling Ty-Ly-View Shark Lily, and the reserve junior champion spot was awarded to Mark Calkins with her spring calf, Calkins Farm Honer. The Ayrshire senior and grand champion was Wentworth-Farm Bonoparte Fawn, a'4-ye3c-010 owned by Amberleigh Yurkanin. The re serve senior and reserve grand champion wasEim BRook May’s Summer, a junior 2-year oid also owned by Amberleigh Yurkanin. Two fail calves took both the junior and reserve junior champion spots. Dazec View Spectacular Sassy, owned by Monica Franklin, won the re serve junior champion award. Elm Brook Trouba Paisley, an 8-year-old cow owned by Heather Yurkanin, was awarded grand champion honors in the Brown Swiss show. The Brown Swiss reserve grand champion was CIE How-Mis Even Polly, a 6-year-old cow owned by Renee Shores. The junior and reserve champion Brown Swiss were both selected from the spring yearling class. Abbie Kuhlman’s Towpath Star Kara, was named the champion, while Renee Shores’ Shores brook Ehart Pollyana was the reserve juraoi* champion. In the Milking Shorthorn show, Samuel Cole showed all four champions. Junior 2-year old Echo Farm Outlaw Margar ita was named the senior and grand champion. Senior 2-year old GMC SCO Steps took re serve senior and reserve grand champion honors.
