The higher steer market was not iced early in the week and continued through Thursday’s attractive offering. Slaughter heifers traded mostly steady. Local holstein steers traded steady early in the week and closed 1.00 higher on very attractive offerings. Midwest feedlot trade was active and sold cattle 2.00 higher at 81.00-82.00 live and 3.00- 5.00 higher at 130.00-134.00 dressed basis. Demand for slaughter cows weak ened this week to close 2.00-4.00 lower for the week. Slaughter bulls traded steady to 1.00 lower. Supply included 32 percent slaughter steers, 10 percent slaughter heifers, 44 percent cows, 4 per cent bulls, with the balance feeders.
