Veteran 4-H livestock exhibitor Jen Flinchbaugh wrapped up her last roundup with a flourish, claiming the champion honors to add to the array of awards she has earned in more than a decade of youth competition. The 19-year-old York she pherdess topped the annual 4-H roundup over about three dozen entries, taking the champion York 4-H Market Lamb roundup champion went to vet eran exhibitor Jennifer Flinchbaugh. Buyer of the Suffolk crossbred was Dean Keeney, for Dean L. Keeney Builders. Her 126-pound Suffolk crossbred wether opened the lamb portion of the roundup sale, bringing a final bid of $2.30 per pound from Dean L. Keeny Builders, Red Lion. Flinchbaugh is a sophomore at Penn State, majoring in animal science. Reserve champion lamb of the roundup judging was the medi umweight class champion, a crossbred wether bred and ex hibited by Jacob Emenheiser, Iter *4 Winterstown. The win was the first champion title the 13-year old sheep breeder took with a homebred entry. Winning bidder for the re serve champion was Peoples Bank, York, represented by ag lender John Eaton, Jr., who made the S2.OS-pound final offer on Emenheiser’s 111- pound lamb. Champion lightweight entry, at 94-pounds, was exhibited by Lindsay Jones, East Berlin, and sold for $1.05 per pound to Dave Hudish, Ag Choice Farm Credit. Megan Heath exhibited the 131-pound reserve champion heavyweight class winner, which sold for $1.30 per pound. Buyer was Dr. Stanton Lebouitz, York. Travis Flory took the reserve champion mediumweight spot with a 106-pound lamb, selling for $1.70 per pound to H.C. Da vidson Plumbing, Hanover. Reserve champion light weight exhibitor was Nicole Gemmill, with her iamb weigh ing in at 98-pounds. Buyer was Ray Kopp, York with a $1.25 bid. The total 37 head marketed through the roundup sale gener ated a sale average, with the champions, of $1.42 per pound, and generated more than $5,700 in cumulative sale income to the 4-H shepherds.
