Olivia Courtney’s Esßern Blackstar Elsie Sis took the high est honors at the Tioga County open dairy shows, conducted here Friday and Saturday, Aug. 11-12. The 4-year-old grand champi on Holstein trumped the other breed champions to take home the supreme champion title. This is the second time in the four years the award has been pres ented that Courtney’s Blackstar topped the list of entries. She previously won the distinction in 1998. Esßern Farms also was named the premier breeder and premier exhibitor of the show. Joe Vanderfeltz, Rushville, judged the two-day show. On Friday, the Holsteins, Linebacks, The champion Holstein was also named the supreme champion at the Tioga County Fair. Show Supreme At Tioga Open Dairy Show and Red and Whites filled the ring. The reserve grand champion of the Holstein show, Esßern Jed Allie Manni, also hailed from Es- Bem Farm and the 4-year-old class. Named the junior champion Holstein was Kahler Farms’ fall calf, Portage Rudolph Delite. The reserve junior champion was Duane Andrews’ summer year ling, D Andrews Highlight Greta. In the Red and White show, Vermillion Holsteins exhibited the junior champion, grand champion, and reserve grand champion of the day. Winter calf Vermillion Salic Tara-Red was named the junior champion, jun ior 2-year-old Vermillion Sly Peaches-Red was named the sen ior and grand champion, and Vermilion Concord Marilyn-Red, an aged cow, was named the re serve senior and reserve grand champion. Christopher Jackson showed the reserve junior champion, Thomas-Crest Tapanga-Red. Morgan Blend showed both Lineback champions. Fall calf Blend Farm Minnie Mouse cap tured junior champion honors and dry senior 2-year-old Blend Farm Elmo was named the sen ior and grand champion of the day.
