Knepper Brothers Dairy, Markleton The Knepper Brothers have a Dairy of Distinction located 14 miles south of Somerset. Actually, it’s a second generation Dairy of Distinction because the brothers' parents had received the designation in the early 1980’s when the program first started in Pennsylvania. Now Kerry and Keith and his wife Georgann and children Cassandra 13 and Hillary 12, took over the farm in January of this year and they applied for the designation as required by the program to keep the records up to date. They farm 450 acres and milk 110 cows that have just recorded the rolling herd average milestone of 20,000 lbs. of milk. The brothers have tried other jobs but they always came back to the farm because they just like the cows and they like the farm.
