Trading was very active and buyers were quick to place their bids, right through to the end of the good offering. An attractive supply of Holstein steers sold 1.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold 1.00 higher, but did not quite teach last week's level. The slaughter bulls traded weak, but the top end of the market was not well tested. Supply included 54 percent slaughter steers and 32 percent cows. Veal buyers pur chased more calves than usual and were able to buy higher quality calves at low prices. Slaughter calves sold weak in • light test. Demand was lighter for Holstein bull calves returning to feed but prices managed to bold steady, except for weights under 95 lbs which sold as much as 30.00 lower. Holstein heifers sold mostly 5.00 lower than Monday's light test Supply included 463 head in the state graded sale and around 74 percent of supply returned to feed.
