SPRINGFIELD (Delaware Co.) —The Delaware County 4-H Fair was held recently at the 4-H Farm and Educational Center on the property of the Garrett-Wil liamson Foundation in Newtown Square. Members exhibited their 4-H projects and competed for awards, according to Bud Bryan, 4-H fair coordinator. An annual highlight of the fair is the livestock auction where members sell the pigs 'and lambs they have raised. Frank C. Milk Sales Increase Through Community Summer Feeding in Rochester. Mayor William Johnson donned a “got milk?” apron and worked the serving line, handing out car tons of milk to the children at the function. Delaware County Fair Focuses On 4-H Videon of Newtown Square again purchased the 240-pound champ ion market hog raised by Meredith Ruzowicz of Newtown Square for $625. The reserve champion hog weighing 224 pounds was raised by Katie O’Keefe of Havertown sold to Medfords Meats of Chester for $4OO. Medfords and Hatfield Quality Meats of Hatfield bought three other hogs. The other 13 hogs sold as “freezer trade” direct ly to individuals who wanted this top quality meat for family con sumption. Eleven market lambs were also sold, with the 115-pound champ ion raised by Joan Harris of Wal lingford selling for $225 to Friends of James Harris of Spring field. Ben Ruzowicz of Newtown Square sold his 116-pound reserve champion lamb to Alex Oleyleow ski of Upper Darby and Bill Cran ny of Drexel Hill for $220. The other members who re ceived champion and reserve champion awards were: Poultry - Colleen Cranny of Drexel Hill, David Kays and Katie O’Keefe of Havertown, Julie McClelland of Colwyn, Elilzabeth Hanna of Newtown Square, Andrew Shaw of Merion Station.
