A42-Lancaster Farming, Saturday, May 16, 1998 Average Farm Feed Costs For Handy Reference To help fanners across the state to have handy reference of com modity input costs in their feeding operations for DHIA record sheets or to develop livestock feed cost data, here’s last week’s average costs of various ingredients as World Dairy Expo ’9B Tour Set FLEETWOOD (Berks Co.) —If you’ve often thought about vis iting the World Dairy Expo but didn’t feel like driving to Wisconsin, or more likely, you plan ned to go and couldn’t secure lodging near Madison; now you can travel with Vista Grande Farm. The Expo fea tures some of the world’s finest cows and exhibits the latest in dairying technology. The tour is scheduled to leave southeastern Pennsylvania via char tered bus on Wednes day, September 30. A buffet luncheon stop at the Minor family’s Springhouse Restaurant and an afternoon tour of Select Sires will high light the first day of tra vel. Thursday’s high lights will include a visit to the well-known Pine hurst Farm in Sheboy gan, Wisconsin and an evening dinner theater at the Fireside in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. A visit to the Dairy Shrine, the Hoard’s Dairyman farm and a tour of J-Star Industries will fill Fri day morning before heading to the Expo for the beginning of the In ternational Holstein Show. Participants will have the option of tra veling to the Cedar Grove Cheese Company Friday afternoon to see that aspect of Wisconsin agriculture. Holstein en thusiasts may choose to remain at the Expo for the World Classic ’9B Sale. Saturday will be spent at the Expo. The return trip home will be "gin Sunday morning and include a visit to the In dianapolis Speedway and Museum. The last day of travel, on Mon day, October 5, will be gin with a morning visit to Mohrfield Holsteins where participants will get to see many of their 40 Excellent cows.
