Pennsylvania Farm Credit, ACA sponsored the Pennsylvania Asso ciation of County Agricultural Agents (PACAA) 1996 awards banquet at the Nittany Lion Inn in Univeristy Park. The PACAA serves the agricul tural community and promotes research and awareness of the environment and the agricultural community. Pennsylvania Farm Credit sup ports the association’s Search for Excellence program, just one of PACAA's extended programs. Keith Walker from Penn West Farm Credit, ACA presented the awards. Bob R. Jones, executive vice president of Northeastern Farm Credit, commented on the Search for Excellence Program, “It is a privilege to be part of the future of agriculture. Through sponsorship. On being recog nized for his award, he said, “It’s great to be recognized by your peers for what you have achieved.” Carol Schurman, extension agent of Indiana County, was the Dekalb Builds Corn Production Plant DEKALB, 111.—Dekalb Gene tics Corporation announced that construction was set to begin in November on a new seed com conditioning plant on an 80-acre site near Constantine. Mich. When completed, this facility will become the largest seed com plant in Dekalb’s production net work. which currently comprises 14 plants located in six states. “Building this facility helps consolidate growing and condi tioning operations at one of our major irrigated com production areas,” said Nate McGuire, Dekalb’s vice president of operations.
