Kevin Pfautz said that he has been “showing every year I could,” which totals five and it took that long to hold the coveted New Holland Fair Swine Show trophy. But Kevin did so with his champion heavyweight hog, weighing 266 pounds, a Hampshire/Duroc crossbred on Tuesday night in New Holland. Kevin, 14, son of Rick and Sue Pfautz, Lititz, is in the Bth grade at Warwick Middle School. The hog, he said, was obtained from Creek Bottom Farm in Cascade, Md. He said he will be showing at the Keystone Intema uonal Livestock Exposition in Harrisburg, at the Manheim Fair, and at state Farm Show. Zack, 12, son of Myron and Sally Stoltzfus, Goidonville, said the hog’s real name is Renbeig and was obtained from Jerry Hostetter. The Blue Butt (actually a York/ Hamp/Landrace crosstoed) hog was nicknamed after the name Zack’s cousin provided, short for “maniac.” Winebark said that the reserve champion hog, at 254 pounds and the light heavyweight champion, “is sure no slouch” and came very close to winning the overall championship. Zack is in the 7th grade at Locust Grove Mennonite School and this is his first New Holland Swine Show championship.
