FEDERAL-STATE Whole egg prices were mixed with the majority of trades at unchanged to lower prices; prices for whites were lower, and yolk prices were unchanged. The market tone was steady for yolks, and no better than steady for whites and whole egg. Demand remained light as many buyers took extended 4th of July holidays. Floor stocks were adequate. Edible liquid and frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro cessed under federal inspection for the week ending June 29, 1996 in the Eastern region were 12% more than last week, and 2% less than the same week last year. Com bids were higher on good export demand and continued dry weather concerns. Soybean bids jumped sharply higher also on dry weather condi tions in the Midwest and improved meal and oil demand. Wheat steady to 3 cents higher. Com 2 to 15 cents higher. Sorghum 1 to 5 cents higher. Soybeans 13 to 18 cents higher. Wheat bids finished slightly higher, despite some profit taking on the board ear ly today.
