NATIONAL EGG MARKET - AT A
GLANCE:
Prices were unchanged. The market tone
was mostly steady. Demand for cartoned
eggs was fair to good, best where featured,
and loose egg movement was fair to very
good, best into food service channels and
resort areas. Supplies were adequate or
available for all sizes except jumbos which
were often tight. Breaking stock supplies
were generally adequate under a steady
trade sentiment. Light type hen offerings
remained more than needed by slaughter
plants.

offered support to bids. Wheat harvest is
progressing and traders await the Crop
Production report Friday, ex- peeling
USDA to show a bumper spring wheat
crop. Rain has returned to the forecasts for
winter wheat areas, adding slight strength.
Com enjoyed very good export business
overnight as South Korea and Taiwan pur
chased substantial amounts of com. Soy
bean bids soared on higher bean and oil
demand again today. The dry weather con
ditions in the Midwest continued to cause
epneem but cooler temperatures limited
advances.
