Lancaster Dairy Of Distinction Dinner Set LANCASTER (Lancaster Co.) The Lancaster County Dairy of Distinction Program has scheduled a special dinner to honor the 1966 winners. The Dairy of Distinction Program is a special grassroots undertaking to promote dairy product sales by encouraging good looking farms as potential consumers drive past the farm lane. LORETTA GOLDEN Cambria Co . Correspondent Loretta has been the Cambria County correspondent for approximately 114 years. Bom and raised in Johnstown, she had no experience with farming until she married her husband, Vince Golden, in 1978. A former secretary math teacher. Loretta is now a stay-at home mom. Her five children include: twins, Katie and Beth, age IS, Andy, age 13. Julie who is 11. and Emily, age 9. They live on Golden Farms, a 300 acre cash crop operation specializing in growing and marketing spe cialty grain such as buckwheat and sunflower. The farm is located in the Portage-Munster area of Cambria County. Recordkeeping for the farm operation is her job along with anything else which may help the operation run more smoothly. A good title for any mother of active children is “logistics man ager” making sure that every one is where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be there. While not too familiar with the technical aspects of fanning, she enjoys writing the articles which are family-oriented and those dealing with education, cooking and crafts. “Writing for the Lan caster Farming has enabled me to meet many of the nice people of Cambria County everyone that I've interviewed in the past VA years has been very gracious.
