Seven Public Meetings, Four Hearings Set For Nutrient Regs HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.) —Notice was given this week by the Pennsylvania Conservation Commission that seven public information meetings and four public hearings will be held on the proposed regulations for nutrient management on farms within the state. The proposed regulations would require those farms with over 2,000 pounds (liveweight) of livestock per acre of land suitable for the application of manure to develop and implement a nutrient management plan. Farms that do not meet these criteria are encour aged to develop nutrient manage ment plans under these regulations as well. These proposed regula tions are mandated by the Nutrient Management Act (Act 6 at 1993). Public Information Meetings The State Conservation Com mission will hold seven public information meetings for the pur pose of discussing the proposed regulations and answering ques tions. No formal recording of questions or comments will be done at these meetings.
