WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's dairy industry is the leading agricultural industry in the Commonwealth, With 10,2 billion gallons of milk produced annually, it ranks fourth in the nation in milk production; and WHEREAS, in tribute to the hard work and dedication of the Commonwealth's 11,500 commercial dairy farm families, the Dairy of Distinction program was developed in 1987, A team of judges work to select the most attractive dairy farms in Pennsylvania, rating them for neatness, maintenance and roadside appearance.
