ANSWER Patricia Varchol, Reinholds, writes that she
started plants from seed for her large garden. The seeds had
a great germination rate, but then died to damping off. She
requested tips to try next year to keep this from happening.

dry out even to the point that the seedlings start to wilt before
• Do not saturate the soil when watering.
