The "friend” part is self-ex planatory friendly people. LORETTA GOLDEN Cambria Co. Correspondent Loretta has been the Cambria County correspondent for Lan caster Farming for only a short period of time. Bom and raised in Johnstown, she had no experi ence with farming until she mar ried her husband Vince Golden in 1978. She was a former junior high school math teacher in the Great er Johnstown School District and has a master’s degree in secon dary education from the Univer sity of Pittsburgh. When twins Katie and Beth (now 14 years old) were bom, Loretta became a full-time “stay at-home” mom. Three more chil dren Andy, age 12, Julie, age 10, and Emily, age B—complete the family. They live on Golden Farms, a 300-acre cash crop operation specializing in grow ing and marketing buckwheat. The farm is located in the Port age area of Cambria County. He also want ed a name which was a reflection there. This is in addition to keep ing farm records, being “parts runner,” etc. While Loretta is not too fami liar with the technical aspects of farming, she enjoys writing the articles which are family-orient ed and those dealing with educa tion, cooking, and crafts. h h i Reflects A Way Of Life of his philosophies and way of life, not merely something which was a dot on a map.
