Lancaster Society 20 Lancaster Farm Women Society #2O met at the home of Vera Herr with Jean Ressel as co-hostess, Thursday March 2. Sue Ellenberg spoke of her trip to Russia. She spoke of the people in general and of the lovely family she stayed with, the food and how many of them get plots of land and raise and preserve as much as they can for the winter. She talked about the transportation, and she had lovely dolls there for display. They range from a big one down to a really tiny one and 20 of them all fit in the big one. They are beautiful and all hand painted. The Lord’s Pray er was prayed in unison and the Pledge of Allegiance was repeated. The 20 present responded to the roll call by saying their favorite soup. Freda Winter, chairman of the Sewing Committee reported 13 bibs had been made. The Sunshine Committee sent five cards since the last meeting. The president stated members would be going to Conestoga View in October add she gave a report on the State Con vention and mentioned the mem bership is now 718. The meeting closed by singing "Brighten the BfBtYTHHB YOU'LL I KEEP/ 2x4 Continuous T Comer.” The April meeting will be at the Memorial United Methodist Church to entertain Societies 26. IS and the county officers. Berks Society 9 The February meeting of Group 9 met in the home of Pat Haas. The meeting opened with a poem reading, the Lord’s Prayer, and the flag salute. For the March meeting members will meet at St Paul’s U.C.C. at 6:30 to go to City Hall for a police program about home security. After the program; members will go to Amie’s for dessert, and a short meeting. April sth is the Birthday Party—each member is to bring a $5 gift to be swapped. Members will go to Snuzzles. Sunshine Fund Chairperson Tippy Oxenford reminded every one to pay equal amounts for the year. The audit was completed, with no problems. Karen Schreirer, as president, presented Kim Casner, as past president, a stained glass hollyhock. County Board has decided that each group should collect food for local food banks, rather than the Co. Bank. The group will collect again in March for St. Paul’s U.C.C. salespeople and you’ve got it all! Computer Aided Customizing! York Society 11 Potosi Society #ll of Farm Women held their February meet ing at the home of Sandy Hilty, with president Arlene Miller pres iding. The meeting opened with several love songs in honor of Val entines Day. Barbara Groth accompanied on the keyboard. Sarah Snyder had devotions. The Roll Call Response was, “Who was President when you were bom.” This created a nice discussion with remembrances of by-gone days and past Presidents. The guess box was won by Mary Vinemiller. The next meeting will be at Christ Lutheran Church with Hester Keeney as Hostess. York Society 26 York County Farm Women Group 26 held the February meet ing at the Jolly Coppersmith Restaurant, Ettcrs, for a luncheon and Valentine party on February 14 with 16 members attending. President Doris Beshore was in charge of the business meeting. Betty Bertolette was in charge of the entertainment Three members had February birthdays. Group 26 will entertain Group 20 at a date in the future. Spring Rally will be held at Dickinson College in Carlisle. Games were won by Ruth Hake and Doris Beshore. Door prizes were won by 5 members.
