Holsteins entered for the Regis tered or Qualified herdbooks plus those in the Identified Holstein Female program may now be identified in the following two ways: • Tattoos-Names/Numbers-Tag s (TNT) Holstein Association ID Tag in herd manage ment number tattooed in the other Junior Cattlemen Hold Beef Skillathon mini-learning stations, particip ants can test their abilities in areas such as identification of beef breeds, retail cuts, feed ingre dients, quality assurance prac tices, food safety, EPD evalua tions, and management decision making. The entire contest will take approximately 35 to 45 minutes to complete, with 5 to 10 minutes at each station. The competition is open to all members of the Pennsylvania Junior Cattlemen’s Association, • TAG ID One Holstein Association ID Tag in each ear of the animal. With on-farm management reliance on tag ID, breeders have a “built-in” identification system for both herd owners and the Association to use. The eartag options open the door for electronic ID. In the elec tronic method, “Radio Frequency 4-H, and FFA. Divisions include senior (16 to 21), intermediate (12-1 S), and junior (8-11). County, club, or school teams consisting of four members in one division are invited to participate. Division winners will receive leather banners and $5O savings bonds.
