However, the microbes In BIO OIQESTER 3 can grow In both aerobic (presence of air) and anaerobic (absence of air) conditions. Bacterial digestion occurs most quickly under aerobic conditions. Therefore, if your pit is covered with a thlQk crust, you must puncture several holes Into the crust to allow oxygen to penetrate Into the pit. If this is not possible, running a hose, attached to a small air compressor, Into the pit will provide the air necessary to Initiate and accelerate the digestion process. Proper Mixing Of 810-OIGESTER 3 810-DIGESTER 3 must be activated before addition to the pit This activation step Is necessary to awaken the bacteria from their dormant phase and convert them Into highly active and vary hungry cultures. The activation step Is simple Add the proper amount of BIO DIGESTER 3, as determined from page 1 to a Jim Greenwood North Central, PA 717-759-1636 “Miffinsville” Zachary Gottschllng, right, champion pair, Bucks Coun ty 4-H Swlna Show and Sale with John Relnlnger, Hatfield Meats. This slurry can then be poured into the pit. IMPORTANT- The bacteria In 810-DIGESTER 3 requires water lor proper growth. DO NOT BROADCAST SPREAD THE 810-DIGESTER 3 SLURRY ON TOP OF A CRUST LAYER AS IT WILL DRY UP AND THE BACTERIA WILL OIEI If you follow these few simple steps, within a few days the foam and/or solids will appear and float to the top of the pit. The crust will then begin to wet, break up and eventually sink. Significant reduction in odor production will be apparent after one to two weeks, as bacteria continue to digest solids In the pit. With continued treatments as recommended, the crust wHI completely disappear and the production of foul odors will cease completely. The sooner you add 810-DIGESTER 3 to your pit, the sooner your solids and odor problems will disappear.
