Monle and Liza Main and their children Matt, 12, and Libby, 15, along with Larry Diehl, a full time employee who has been with the operation for 15 years, have this Dairy of Distinction. They farm 450 acres in Franklin County ]ust west of Mercersburg along Route 16. The Mains moved to the former beef farm three years ago from Frederick County, Maryland. They have 180 Holstein cows that average over 20,000 lbs. of milk. Monle's father Charles, who is retired back In Maryland, raises the heifer calves from the operation, and when they are springing, Monle buys them back to put into his milking herd.
