Md. Holstein Association Supports 4-H Youth With COLLEGE PARK. MD. Four Maryland youth will be rep resenting the United States in international competition at the Royal Highland Show in Edin burgh, Scotland on June 25. The youth will be attending the com petition as a result of winning the National 4-H Dairy Cattle Judging Contest in Madison, Wis. in Sep tember 1992. A special activity to raise funds will be a Fun Auction sponsored by the Maryland Holstein Associ- Farm Hires V.P. LANCASTER (Lancaster Co.) Ken Lewis has been hired as a vice president of credit by Key stone Farm Credit, ACA, with headquarters here. The announce ment was made by David Sorensen, senior vice president of credit operations. Lewis, who was bom in France while his father was serving in the United States Armed Forces as a medic, was raised in Lancaster County. His family moved to a farm when he was a sophomore at Hempfield High School, Landis ville. They fed steers and hogs, and young Lewis became involved in 4-H. Lewis earned a degree in agricultural economics from Cornell University in 1978. Summers during college he work ed with Hershey Equipment Co., installing poultry equipment. Joining Farm Credit in the Bal timore district’s field training program in June 1978, Lewis spent approximately three years working with the York Farm Cre dit Association in York and Adams counties. It will be held in conjunc tion with the Maryland Holstein Annual Banquet on Friday even ing, March 12, at the Comfort Inn in Frostburg, Md. The Fun Auc tion will begin immediately fol lowing the banquet. Team members are Kristi Geary, Gaithersburg; Mark lager, Fulton: Chip Savage, Knoxville; and Marie Speak, Taneytown.
