The 18-year-old son of Dean and Jane Weaver, Centre Hall has also received the DeKalb Award, attended the Washington Leadership Conference, and served as chapter vice president. Welk 'Plans to be a dairy farmer are top in the mind of Matthew T, Welk, four-year Solanco FFA member. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Welk, Peach Bottom. Matthew serves as chapter vice president and student advi sor. FFA projects include dairy herd, swine finishing, beef finishing, and com produc tion. Matthew has served as chair of the community service, chair of state and national activities, and served on the FFA Week, banquet, and tractor committees. He has competed in state and national dairy catde judging, dairy food, and land judging contests. Matthew is the recipient of the Greenhand, Chapter, and Red Rose degrees, and picked up other honors as County Star Red Rose Farmer, swine, dairy, and com proficiency awards, and gold in the county and state project book.
