Friendship Stew 2 pounds ground beef 4 1-pound cans Italian-slylc crushed tomatoes 2 medium white or yellow onions 4 large potatoes 1 1-pound can yellow com 1 1-pound can green beans 1 BIA8 l A -ounce can sliced carrots 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon crushed oregano 1 6-ounce package frozen green peas Brown the ground beef in a medium skillet until no pink is remaining; drain and set the meat aside. Place canned tomatoes in a 4-quan stock pot. Peel and coarse ly chop onions and potatoes; add to tomatoes. Add browned beef and remaining ingredients, except for the peas. Bring stew to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer stew slowly for 40 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Add peas and cook 5 minutes longer. Serve the stew with dinner rolls or combread. Serves about 8. Snowballs Shape any flavor of ice cream into 2- to 3-inch balls, quickly roll ing each ball in coconut. Place balls on a cookie sheet and put them in the freezer. To serve, place 1 or 2 snowballs in a bowl. (Put chocolate syrup in the bowl first, if you like.) 10. Start the tradition of passing the same holiday gift box between family members.
