Brookings, South Dakota, was the breeding cattle judge and selected the champions in the cow-calf pair, bred-and owned bull, bred-and-owned heif-. er, and owned heifer categories. The steer judge was Jim Hyer of Porterville, California. Befor selecting his grand cham pion owned heifer at the conclu sion of the four-day show, judge Boggs commended exhibitors on “an awfully good set of functional females.” He said the quality of the cattle was only excelled by the quality of the young Angus peo ple. He then selected Ronan Queen of Wayside M 591 for his grand champion owned heifer. The September 1990 female is a daughter of Oneills Renault The reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female was Wo mack Dark Duchess 171 owned by Wesley Womack, Bowling Green, Kentucky.
