Judging the contest were Tim Pfautz, former State FFA officer and Dave Smith from Agway. 4-H Outstanding Award Received Michael Hensel. Newburg, is this year’s recipient of the 4-H Outstanding Award. This award, sponsored by York Farm Credit, was given at the Cumberland County 4-H Annual Awards Banquet held recently at the Penn Township Fireball. The award recognizes Kernel's out standing project work with 4-H. South Mountain 4-H The South Mountain 4-H Club held it's monthly meeting recently in the Fontana Church pavilion. The American Pledge was led by Jody Good. The 4-H Pledge was led by Rachel Bucher. Club members were reminded to pick up cookies at Fran Bushong’s. The club was informed that petting zoos were a big success. The May cookie swimming par ty was held at the YMCA. The 4-H club held a lock-in on May 15 at the Mt. Wilson Church from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Michelle Bushong won first place in agriculture and Melanie Bushong won first place in vet sci ence from the blue forms.
