UNIVERSITY PARK (Centre Co.) This summer, 130 Penn sylvania teen-agers will learn about geology 200 feet under ground in a limestone cave, study forest management principles by conducting a forest inventory and gain experience in citizen action by participating in a simulated public hearing. They will attend Penn State’s Conservation Leadership Schools (CLS). Held at the 700-acre Stone Valley Recreation Area in Hunt ingdon County, these two-week long outdoor, residential work shops are open to IS- to 18-year olds interested in exploring solutions to environmental issues.
