The champion boar (LAI SSG First CH, 40-1, sire SSG Fist Choice, dam DPF9 MS Chest) belonged to Lawrence Arnold, of Womelsdorf. Hampshire swine owned by Jack and Tina Clark of Huston town captured several awards. Three Hampshires contributed to the winning streak JCPI Pedro (sire KKH9 Pedro, dam LFS9 Jane) captured grand champion boar on the Erst showing. CP 21-2 (sire WGN9 TORO, dam Miss M) was the reserve champion boar. JCP 1 Jane 4-6 (sire KKH9 Pedro, dam LFS9 Jane) won grand champion gilt The Clarks operate a pig farm in Hustontown, selling breeding stock and feeder pigs. The feature breed of KILE, the Yorkshire Show, had the most number of entries. The grand championship went to Farrer Stock Farms, Royal Center, Ind., with the March boar, FARI TITAN (sire ARKO Citation, dam FAR 9 Dutchers). Grand champion gilt honors went to a January gilt, CBHI Tillie (sire BV9 AJ, dam CBH9 Tillie). Grand champion Berkshire gilt went to Russel and Arlie Corn bower, New Freedom, with a February boar, PBF Bam Bam (sire PBF Bam Bam, dam Cor 7 Power Model 13-2). Grand champion Berkshire gilt went to George and Gary Winebark, Ros si ter, for a March gilt, GNWI Classic Stuf (sire KMSO Classic, dam GNWO Miss Wright Expander). Champion Chester White boar went to a March boar exhibited “by Rodger Bankert, Hanover, for I LPS ADMIRAL (sire LPSO Admiral, dam CBO Ms. Special). Champion Chester White gilt was awarded to James T. Parlett and Sons for the March gilt, TM Dame P (sire Plainman, dam TM Dame). Grand champion Landrace boar was exhibited by Grant Lazarus, Getmansville, a February boar. Lazarus also won the gilt class with his February gilt. Poland China grand champion boar, a March boar, was awarded to Leland Mapes and family, Unionville Center, Ohio. Mapes won with LOMIS Mr. High Vol tage (sire MMSOS High Voltage, dam LOM7S Miss Thunder). George and Gary Winebark won champion gilt with a March gilt, GGWI S Miss Right (sire RTS9 S Balsmid, dam CAB 9 S). Brian Lake picked up champion Spotted Swine boar honors with his March boar, BLL Carp (sire SSF Carp, dam BLL Jewel). A February gilt was grand champion Spotted gilt, TMI Jenny (sire FSFO Payroll, dam TMO Jenny), exhibited by James Parlett and sons.
