Fall will soon be here and with the season comes leaves and other green material from the trees, shrubs, vegetable and flower gardens. One way to easily take care of this material is through compost ing. Composting is an age old art that has been rediscovered because of recent legislation limiting yard and garden waste into landfills. Instructors for the course are from the York County Master Gardners and the course is being offered on a Tuesday evening, Sept. 17, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost of the course is $8 and it includes a composting manual and refreshments. All classes are designed for the gardening public and are to be informative for the novice or sea soned gardener. To register for the course, send a check made payable to Agricultur al Extension. The address should be Penn State Extension, c/o Home Horticultural Seminars, 1383 Arcadia Road, Room 1, Lancaster, 17601. The course is to be held in the downstairs classrooms of the Farm and Home Center, located at 1383 Arcadia Road in Lancaster. Currently, the downstairs meet ing room of the Farm and Home Center is accessible only by stairs. If stairs are not acceptable to attend the class because of use of a wheel chair or crutches, call H. Bruce Hllerick at (717)394-6851, at least five days prior to the scheduled program to arrange for an alterna tive meeting site. rni ,v * *. '• % ’ “’’i- ({V;' , rn: .. twß»y.
