Plans Dairy Day The educational portion of the day will begin at 10 a.m. and will feature Penn State extension spe cialists Dan Meyer and Steve Spencer. Meyer, a na tive of lowa, received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin and M.S. degree from Colorado Slate University. He as been em ployed as an ag engineering specialist for Penn StatQ since 1980. Meyer specializes in dairy and livestock housing, manure handling and storage, and cncrg> conservation. Steve Spencer, a native of Bradford County, is a member of the dairy and animal science department. He received his B.S. and master’s degrees from Penn Stale and serves as an assistant county agent in Northumberland County. Spencer’s work focuses on improving milking system design, milking man agement, and milk quality. Among the many awards he has received for his work is the Distinguished Service Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Dairy Sanitarians and Dairy Laboratory Analysts. Topics the specialists will be covering include milking machines and mastitis; ventilation update; quality premiums; and manure handling and storage options. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. to give farmers a chance to visit exhibits and consult with specialists. Cost for the event is S 5 per person, which covers lunch and admission. The color of these pro ducts was changed to green in 1986 after Allis-Chalmers was acquired by Klockner-Humboldt- Deutz, a German company.
