National Ayrshire Sale Sets Record BRANDON, Vt.— As the spot light came up on the sale ring set up in the Ballroom of the Indiana polis Marriott, April 14th, ring men, dressed in white dinner jack ets, took their places and the 1990 Grand National Ayrshire sale began. Three hours later, two all time records were broken. The 28 live lots averaged $3,194, breaking the all-time sale average. The 19 embryos sold for an average of $514 per embryo. Covey-Farms CVR Karman, a stylish, growthy senior yearling, and the 1989 Reserve All Ameri can Sr. Calf, topped the sale. This animal went to Green Meadows Farm, Inc., Elsie, MI for $5,000. Fourth high selling animal, Jonesvale Jade Celebrity, con signed by Oakley Jones, Athens, ME, was the 1989 All American Sr. Calf.
