County winners in 4-H horse performance classes woe: Alison Farrington, Lititz, third in stock seat equitation and seventh in open trail; Deana Mentzer, Land isville, sixth in hunter hack horses; Kate Moxley, Lancaster, first in hunter seat equitation, junior divi sion over jumps. In 4-H horse production classes members breed and raise their own project animal. Local win ners were; Alison Farrington, Lititz, first in western pleasure three-year-old - futurity, third in two year old Ally, fourth in west ern pleasure two-year-old - futuri ty; Angela Frantz, Lancaster, first in yearling gelding - Arabian; ancf Eileen Holm, Manheim, third in English pleasure three year old - futurity. Several other Lancaster County horse club members competed in the state contest and received rec ognition. They were: Becky Preiss of Landis ville and Jennie Olweiler of Elizabethtown. Jay W. Irwin, County Extension director, pointed out that competi tion gave 4-H’ers an opportunity to display their skills in horseman ship and proper horse grooming.
