Lancaster County Tobacco Management LANCASTER (Lancaster Co.) - A tobacco management meeting and show will be held on Wednes day, January 3, 1990 at the Lan caster County Farm and Home Center from 11 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The meeting is sponsored by Penn State Extension and will be held in the basement meeting room. Inter ested tobacco growers are invited to attend the educational meeting and participate in the show. A variety of interesting topics related to tobacco management will be discussed to assist tobacco growers produce a quality crop. Starting at 11:15 a.m., John Yo cum from the Penn State Research Farm will be discussing weed con trol in tobacco. Economic Research Service. Dr. Grise traces tobacco markets throughout the world along with monitoring the plant ing and harvesting of the world’s tobacco crops. Claude McKee, University of Maryland, tobacco specialist, will be discussing the tobacco industry in Maryland. Claude and John Yocum have had several joint research projects and will have some interesting data to share with growers. The program will qualify for several pesticide update training credits. In addition to the tobacco man agement meeting, the Lancaster County Tobacco Show will be held at the same time.
