He will combine his sports back ground with motivational thinking and apply it to the purebred cattle industry. Bradshaw, who is now in his sixth year as color analyst for CBS, also owns and operates Circle 12 Ranch in Louisiana. All eyes will be on the show arena for the days of Jan. 24 and 25 as exhibitors from throughout the United States compete with their best Polled Hereford seed stock. Judging the event will be the three-man team including Ed Kalianoff of Kal-Kota Polled Herefords, Steele, N.D.; Dr. John Edwards of Texas A&M Universi ty, College Station; and Sloan Williams of V 8 Ranch, Hunger ford, 'Texas. NCA President Bob Josscrand, Hereford, Texas, will speak at the Strategic Planning Preview meet ing on the afternoon of Jan. 23, addressing major issues of the cattle industry. Charlie Ball, an association consultant from Amarillo, Texas, will also be fea tured at the Preview. He will pre sent the results of the recent American Polled Hereford Asso ciation (APHA) membership survey, which is being used as a guide in planning the association’s future. On the evening of Jan. £3, Polled Hereford members will attend an educational seminar tilled “Documenting Polled Here ford Genetics for the 19905.” It will present an overview of gene tic information available to Polled Hereford members through the next decade. Industry and breed leaders will be honored with Hall of Fame and Hall of Merit enslirincmcnt during the awards banquet. Bill Wolfe of Wolfe Ranches, Wallowa, Ore., will be inducted into the Polled Hereford Hall of Fame for his con tributions to the breed. Hall of Merit inductees include Paul Andre, BEEF magazine - commu nications; Dr. Joe Hughes, Okla homa Stale University - youth; Dr. H.W. Lcipold, Kansas State Uni versity - education and research; and Bob Walt, Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show - public affairs. In addition, the week’s activi ties will include the National Polled Hereford Sale on Jan. 26, the crowning of a new National Polled Hereford Queen, and selec tion of the Herdsman of the Year and Poll-clte of the Year.
