Dawn Tomczak of Pcr kiomenville and Michele Roth of Collegville were among the top honorees at the annual Montgom ery County 4-H Equine awards night held recently at the 4-H Cen ter in Creamery. Dawn and Michele were selected as the out standing 4-H equine members for 1989. Dawn is a member of the Timbcrtalk Trotters 4-H Club while Michele hails from the Cen tral 4-H Horse and Pony Club. They were selected for this honor due to their exemplary involve ment, achievements and leader ship with 4-H. County Agent Nancy Kadwill of Collcgevillc presented several key county awards to the follow ing: Jennifer Meyer of Gilbcrts ville - Top Horse Blue Form Record; Sarah Blaxland of Lans dale - Top Showman (12 and under) and the winner of the Frank Jones Grand Champion Show manship Trophy; Kristin Cabot of Perkiomcnville - Champion Showman (13-16); Rachel Roth of Collcgcville - Champion Show man (16-19) and Amy Nacc of Lansdale - Outstanding Horse Sci ence Member. Receiving completion awards in the Horse Production program were Michael Maloney of Glen side; Rachel Roth, Collcgevillc; and Kristin Cabot of Perkiomen ville. Kristin was also named the Outstanding Horse Production Member in the county. Recognized as “Hard Working Individuals” were Tara Bernhard of Harleysville, Ellen Marlin of Frederick, Devon Jones of Hat field and Michele Roth of Col legevillc. State Agriculture Secretary Boyd E. Wolff said the brochures listing farmers and other produc ers who sell directly to consumers will cover a broader range of com modities than the Department’s current “Consumer’s Guide to Contest.
