Registrations of Angus cattle during the year totaled 156,697 head, up 9 percent from last year, and the third consecutive yearly increase. Transfers, which gener ally represent sales, tdtaled 94,628 head, an increase of just under 10 percent. More new Angus herds were started during the year as 1,730 cattle producers were issued new regular memberships an increase of 7 percent. In addition 933 new junior memberships were issued, up 5 percent from 1988.
