Rice. “Although there will be a 60-day public comment period on the report, it is appropriate for us to immediately initiate a review of our plans. By starting now, we can ensure that our policy will be in place and fully understood before the fire season begins in the West.” Rice and Forest Service Chief F. Dale Robertson has directed that all naturally occurring fires on national forests be suppressed until fire management plans have been reviewed and approved. In addition, he directed the agency’s regional foresters to make certain their organizations are fully pre pared to manage prescribed natur al fire programs. “Although our prescribed natural fire program has been suc cessful since first implemented in 1972, the severe fire season this year pointed out some areas which need strengthening,” Rice said. “We will certainly take advantage of this opportunity to make a good program better.” HAD LANCASTER FARMING FOR COMPLETE AND UP-TO-DATE MARKET REPORTS
