Meeting in executive committee Monday night, the group pointed out the only cost to the county would be an estimated $l2OO travel expenses and $4OO stenographic services, with salary to be paid by the Pennsylvania State University extension service. Lancaster County corn producers Tuesday voted 191 to 86 in favor of the proposed new control program for corn, but nation-wide the measure lost by about five and one-half percent. The Lancaster County Chapter of the American Red Cross has been given a quota of $8,738 in the current national drive for relief of Hungarian citizens according to an announcement made today by Francis L. Cassel, chapter chairman. The Lancaster County quota represents this area’s share of a five million dollar national Red Cross Fund which has been ap proved by President Eisenhower.
