President Viola Wolfe installed new member Violet Adams into the society. Violet lives in Lititz. Society 1, Lancaster County’s first Farm Women society, will celebrate its 70th anniversary in January of 1987. A special meeting is planned for this event. Five members will attend the state Farm Women Convention in Harrisburg, Jan. 12 and i.i The next meeting will be held Dec. 6. The group will have dinner at the Hershey Farm Restaurant and will view the show at Sight and Sound. Husbands and friends of members are invited to attend. Lancaster Society 2 met in November at the home of Mrs. LayserShenk, Mastersonville. Secretary Ruth Waltz reported on the County Convention. President Betty Geib selected delegates to attend the state convention to be held in Harrisburg Jan. 12 and 13. The delegates are Ada Almadovar and Elsie Witmer. Berks Society 5 Members of Berks Society 5 met Nov. 11 at the home of Mrs. Marlene Sattazahn, Womelsdorf. Following devotions by the hostess, new members Deb Fegley and Connie Smay were initiated and welcomed to the group. The group will hold a Christmas party Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. at Tulpehocken Church in Millard sville. During the business meeting conducted by President Carolyn Feeg, members decided to use some of the proceeds from their successful sandwich sale to buy Christmas gifts for residents of Twin Spruce Home in Myerstown and for residents of Independence Terrace in Womelsdorf. Carolyn Feeg will portray Mrs. Claus and she and several other members will deliver the gifts the second week in December. The group’s scrapbook placed third at the county convention and Timothy Feeg placed second in the youth craft division for his seed picture. The outgoing officers, which include president Carolyn Feeg, vice president Carol Stoudt, recording secretary Nan Feeg, corresponding secretary Mary Keeler and treasurer Sandy Rauenzahn, were congratulated fora job well done. The following new officers were installed: president, Carol Stoudt; vice president, Sandy Rauenzahn, recording secretary, Deb Fegley, corresponding secretary, Betty Wessner; and treasurer, Betsy Sattazahn. The program for the evening was “bow making” as instructed by members Michaeleen Eves and Betty Wessner. York Society 7 York Society 7 met in November at the home of Irene Rentzel for a Thanksgiving dinner. Edna Brothers conducted the meeting. The group received a thank you note from Pleasant Acres. The group will leave on a bus trip to Bethlehem, Pa. to see Christmas lights on Dec. 11. Members will meet at the United Church of Christ in Starview at 2:30 p.m. Donna Hoover celebrated her birthday. Sissel Haugen, an ex change student from Norway, and Jamie Heath from Manchester entertained the group. The next meeting will be a Christmas party on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. in the United Church of Christ in Starview.
