A3B-Lancaster Farming, Saturday, November 22,1986 Southeast District Beef Show (Continued from Page A3O) bid of 87 cents a pound. Boyd also bought a steer and a lamb to be donated to the two Lancaster County 4-H clubs for their banquet. She sold both lambs to Willie the Butcher, her 130-pound grand champion going for $3 a pound, and her 140-pound reserve fetching a top bid of $2. Willie finished the sale with 15 of the 48 lambs sold. The lambs averaged 98 cents a pound without the champion and reserve. Other enthusiastic lamb buyers included Walter M. Dunlap and Sons, Engle Business Equipment, Reinholds Lumber and Supply, New Holland Sales Stables and Hamilton Bank. Young exhibitors had the op portunity to buy next year’s show prospects at a club calf sale following the market sale. The sale’s most popular calf was a Chianina-Angus cross consigned by Walters Club Calves, York County, and sold to the Abe Hess family, Conestoga, for $B5O. Sale receipts totaled $10,260 for a sale average of $490 per animal.
