Lebanon Hosts The first annual Lebanon-VaUey Farm Toy Show, Sale, and Auction was held June 28 at the Lebanon, Pa. fairgrounds. A display of John Deere pedal tractors by Ed and Pauline Andres of the Lebanon area won first place. Another fine pedal tractor display, owned by Lloyd Wenger of Myerstown and displayed by Bill Paul, took second place. Some 35 different pedal tractors were featured in this display, along with a full-sized John Deere 330 tractor. (This is only about 1/3 of the Wenger collection.) In third place was a combination farm toy and toy truck collection, displayed by Krall Hostetler and Sons. Another unique display was the scale model horse display by Glenn and Lorrene Blanch of Jonestown. A panel of experienced toy collectors from lowa, Maryland, and Pennsylvania selected the winners. Approximately 500 persons attended the show. While most spectators came from within a 50 mile radius, some attended from New York, New Jersey, and other nearby states. An auction was held at the end of the show, and one of the high dollar items was a Minneapolis-Moline model G-1355 tractor in its original box, which brought $245. An Oliver 77 tractor from the ’sos, complete with new paint, brought $lOO. A John Deere “A” in mint condition was knocked down at $l9O. Show managers Don Bollinger of Myerstown, Irwin Engle of Marietta, and Dave Nolt of Paradise are already planning a similar show and auction for 1987.
